On October 15, the Zhejiang Mould Association’s business visit to Germany continued with a visit to the BARNES Group, exploring two globally renowned German mould companies—Otto Männer GmbH and FOBOHA. This visit was not only a deep experience of German manufacturing but also a profound understanding of craftsmanship.
Otto Männer GmbH
Founded in 1965, the company is one of the industry’s leading suppliers, employing over 600 staff and having production, sales, and service bases in Europe, America, and Asia. The company develops high-tech solutions for injection molding applications, providing high-performance moulds and customized hot runner technology for producing plastic parts.
In the morning, the delegation arrived at Otto Männer GmbH, where Mr. Mark from the sales and project management department served as the guide. He not only detailed the company’s basic information but also led everyone through a small museum within the company. A series of detailed historical documents and exhibitions of innovative achievements comprehensively showcased the company’s remarkable development since its establishment.
Subsequently, the delegation toured the production workshop. Although photography was restricted for confidentiality reasons, the efficient operation of automated production lines, precision machinery, and the focused work of employees highlighted Otto Männer GmbH’s deep strength and outstanding quality. Every aspect demonstrated the rigor and precision of German manufacturing, particularly their application of hot runner technology, which made complex molding processes seamless, leaving a profound impression on the attendees. Members of the delegation expressed that this on-site visit gave them a deeper understanding and recognition of German manufacturing.
FOBOHA
FOBOHA’s technical advantages encompass single-component moulds, stack moulds, multi-component moulds, rotary tables and systems, modular mould technology, and automated processing systems.
In the afternoon, the delegation moved to FOBOHA for communication and learning. Accompanied by International Project Management Manager Michael Rauber, everyone toured the company. Various moulds and products on display visually reflected the company’s expertise in design and manufacturing. During the visit, delegation members gained insights into the unique appeal of stack and cube moulds. These cutting-edge mould technologies not only significantly enhanced production efficiency but also set new industry standards in product quality and precision.
Through this second stop of the Zhejiang Mould Association’s business visit to Germany, the delegation deepened their understanding of Germany’s advanced manufacturing processes, experienced the importance of “smart manufacturing” for corporate transformation and upgrading, and laid a solid foundation for promoting exchanges and cooperation in the mould industry between both parties.
